The Last Kids on Earth is an upcoming computer-animated adventure comedy film based on the book series of its same name by Max Brallier. It was produced by Sony Pictures Animation, Movie Land Animation Studios and Atomic Cartoons. The actors would serve to reprise their roles from the Netflix television series of its same name. The film was directed by Peter Ramsey and Trish Sie, with the screenplays by Rodney Rothman, Jill Culton and Phil Lord and the story by Lord and with animation by Sony Pictures Imageworks.
The film stars the voice roles of Nick Wolfhard, Charles Demers, Garland Whitt, Brian Drummond, Mark Hamill, Catherine O'Hara, Keith David, Bruce Campbell and Rosario Dawson.
The film will begin on October 15, 2021 in the United States and Canada and other dates in other territories by Sony Pictures Entertainment Motion Picture Group under via Columbia Pictures label.

Cast and characters[]
- Nick Wolfhard as Jack Sullivan, a 13-year-old orphan and video gamer turned hero thanks to the apocalypse.
- Charles Demers as Dirk Savage, a former school bully turned strongman and monster fighter on Jack's team. He likes cooking and gardening.
- Montserrat Hernandez as June Del Toro, a tomboyish 13-year-old girl who is Jack's crush but did not reciprocate his feelings, but starts to develop some in Book 2. She was trying to survive on her own until her parents come back for her with a rescue party; but she joins Jack's team and learns to have fun during the apocalypse. She was editor-in-chief of the school's paper.
- Garland Whitt as Quint Baker, Jack's nerdy best friend who invents most of the gadgets the kids use to survive in their post-apocalyptic environment.
- Brian Drummond as the vocal effects for Rover, a blue-furred canine-like monster who befriends Jack in the television series Book 1 and becomes the team's pet and mascot.
- Mark Hamill as Bardle, a gruff monster conjurer that takes up residence in Joe's Pizza.[1]
- Catherine O'Hara as Skaelka, a female monster warrior that takes up residence in Joe's Pizza and becomes a friend of June's.[2]
- Keith David as Thrull, the secondary antagonist.
- Bruce Campbell as Chef, a cranky monster that takes up residence in Joe's Pizza.[2][3]

A CGI animated film adaptation of the book series of its same name by Max Brallier was announced at Pinewood Studios to be developed by Sony Pictures Animation and Movie Land Animation Studios, with Nick Wolfhard, Charles Demers, Garland Whitt, Brian Drummond, Mark Hamill, Catherine O'Hara, Keith David, Bruce Campbell and Rosario Dawson will reprise their voice roles from the Netflix television series of its same name.
Animation[]
The computer animation products for the film was fully created by Sony Pictures Imageworks, SPA's sister studio, in Vancouver and Culver City, who provided the animation process for these four Sony Pictures Animation films, The Emoji Movie, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, The Angry Birds Movie 2 and Connected, with the additional services created by Movie Land Digital Production Services.
Sound design[]
For the film's sound design, supervising sound editors Erik Aadahl and Ethan Van der Ryn were served. Krasinski instructed them to try to "follow the rules" set up in the first film and said of the experience, "What we found was by doing that, and not trying to be cool, we ended up uncovering way more stuff than we ever would've been able to [otherwise]."

The music score for the film were composed and produced by Henry Jackman, James Newton Howard, Lorne Balfe, Tom Holkenborg and Daniel Pemberton with Lennon Stella.
