Famous 5 (also known as Famous 5: The Movie) is an upcoming 2021 American computer-animated mystery adventure action comedy film loosely based on the novels of the same name created by Enid Blyton. It's a continuation to Famous 5: On the Case. It stars the voice of Hailee Steinfeld, Rihanna, Tenzing Norgay Trainor, Shawn Mendes and Frank Welker as Timmy the Dog. It was directed by Stephen Gaghan, who is collaborated on Dolittle, from a screenplay by Nicholas Stoller, Rodney Rothman and Christopher McQuarrie, and a story by Phil Lord and Gary Ross.
Produced by Columbia Pictures, Sony Pictures Animation, Movie Land Animation Studios, Lord Miller Productions and Pascal Pictures, which is William Renschen, Amy Pascal, Phil Lord, Christopher Miller and Christina Steinberg, the film will be release in theaters on June 18, 2021 in the United States by Sony Pictures Releasing under its Columbia Pictures label in IMAX, RealD 3D, Dolby Cinema and 2D theaters.
The sequel film, entitled Famous 5 Goes to New York, will be released on November 4, 2022 with Skydance Media and International Donut Fund Productions were involved in the second film.

"Once there were one of the heroes of their own story in "Famous 5", the all new full-length, theatrical animated Sony's Movie Land Universe adventure, showing where to find a clue. The Famous 5 teams, Allie Campbell (Hailee Steinfeld), Jo Misra (Rihanna), Dylan Kirrin (Tenzing Norgay Trainor), Max Kirrin (Shawn Mendes) and Timmy the Dog (Frank Welker; voice played by Michael Peña), were embark on a new series of adventures. Development[]
Development for a film adaptation of Famous 5: On the Case and/or an untitled Famous 5 film has been announced in August 2013. It will be directed by Stephen Gaghan, and with screenplays by Nicholas Stoller, Rodney Rothman and Christopher McQuarrie, and a story by Phil Lord and Gary Ross, with animation currently created by Movie Land Digital Production Services.
In October 2013, Paramount Pictures acquired the rights to produce and distribute a film based on the Famous Five series. On June 10, 2014, a computer-animated film was announced as a joint venture between Paramount Pictures and Ilion Animation Studios, a Spanish animation production services for the 2009 film, Planet 51. It would be produced by Amy Pascal, Phil Lord, Christopher Miller and Christina Steinberg.
On October 2, 2017, Sony Pictures announced that they had acquired the rights alongside Movie Land Animation Studios and Sony Pictures Animation for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, with William Renschen was added as a producer and with animated services was replaced by Movie Land Digital Production Services, as a joint venture between Sony Pictures Animation and Movie Land Animation Studios, after Paramount Pictures being busy making Wonder Park for Nickelodeon Movies/Paramount Animation. Almost all of the production team remained unchanged and intact. In December 2019, it was announced that the film would be released in June 2021.
Casting[]
In June 2019, the majority of the voice cast was announced. On August 12, 2019, Hailee Steinfeld, Rihanna, Tenzing Norgay Trainor and Shawn Mendes joined the cast of the film. The next day, Frank Welker joined the cast as Timmy the Dog. On January 1, 2020, Jason Sudeikis, Charlyne Yi and Rachel Bloom has joined the cast.
Animation[]
The character animation and computer graphics were fully created by Movie Land Digital Production Services (MLDPS), replacing Ilion Animation Studios for Paramount Pictures' Wonder Park, led by MLDPS's studio in Mumbai, Vancouver and London, with William Renschen, Nigel Sumner and Vanitha Rangaraju were served as a visual effects supervisors, using Pixar RenderMan, Blender, Inc. and Autodesk Maya, with a help from the Moving Picture Company (MPC). The production team used computer animation to create a CGI version of Dylan Kirrin. This film will be containing the same characters from the British/French television series, Famous 5: On the Case.
Music[]

The music for the film is fully composed by Henry Jackman and Tom Holkenborg with Jonas Blue. The film features "Slow Dance (Sam Feldt Remix)", performed by AJ Mitchell and Sam Feldt featuring Ava Max, and was added in the film's end credits. It also features the original version of "Slow Dance", performed by AJ Mitchell featuring Ava Max and was added in the scene for when Dylan Kirrin and Max Kirrin jumps and falls into the water in slow-motion during the tower destruction.
The official theme song to the film is "San Francisco", a song written by Yann Peifer, Manuel Reuter, Tony Cornelissen and Matthew Langlois, and produced by Manuel "Manian" Reuter and Yann "Yanou" Peifer. It is performed by Cascada.
A full soundtrack album was released by Republic Records on June 15, 2021. A separate album containing their score was released by Sony Classical Records on June 18, 2021, the same day as the film's release.
Release[]
Famous 5 will be released by Sony Pictures Releasing under its Columbia Pictures label on June 18, 2021. The film in the United States has been rated PG "for mild rude humor, peril, thematic elements, brief language and frenetic sequences of animated action violence" by the MPA.
Marketing[]
An official logo was released on December 18, 2019. A teaser trailer was exclusively released on the Movie Land Disc release of Famous 5: On the Case. On August 5, the teaser trailer was released online.
